Simple Inexpensive Blythe Bed Tutorial

I wanted to make a Blythe bed to photograph my dolls on.

Because that was probably all I would ever use it for I did not want to spend a lot of money.

So I made this simple bed for less than $10

I went to the hardware and bought these MDF pieces and some small square timber

The largest piece is the bed base and the other two are the ends.

The largest end will be the bed head and I cut the other end shorter to be the end of the bed

I then cut the square timber the same length as the width of the bed base

Now glue the square timber to your bed ends at the height you want your bed base to be

Then when that has dried glue your bed base to the upper side of you square timber.

Looks like a bed now!!

Now you can paint or stain your bed.  I choose to stain mine as I had some left from another job.

If you were going to paint you could just buy a sample pot of colour

I made my mattress from a foam seat pad from a discount store. It cost $2

And I just cut it to size and covered it with fabric I had.

Then I made a bed ruffle ( this hides the cut out bit of the bottom of the bed head ) and
a quilt and pillow.

And I think it looks fabulous for something so quick and easy to make.

Hope you like it as well!!

 Till next time
